Bad Campers Tour Part 1

Our tour club " Bad Campers" set off for a roadtrip.

The goal was Germany, and we first set off to Stuttgart....what a bomb:-)

Had some nice days in Stuttgart, and did see the Porsche factory inside and otside.

We got a full tour at the production line and engine line.

And then we had a look at the Porsche museum.

Great town, great cars and great people!

The 1938 vw was seen for first time...but i have to say the car gave me more when i saw it as found in Hessisch.

Something should have been left alone....

Speedsters are hot...in all forms...356, 911 g-model, 964 and in...yes 993 form

Got some photos from fellow Porsche nut Christian.
He had taken some of theese in the basement in the Porsche museum.

Here is one of only two 993 speedsters to be buildt by Porsche.
One was green and one was silver.
The green one was given to Butzi Porsche as a 70 year present from Porsche, and the other one was a special order from Jerry Seinfeld.

So cool car with excellent history:

This car left the factory in April 1957 and was delivered to "Werk", the Porsche company itself. It was driven by Huschke von Hanstein who was the manager of the Press Department. The car was used for road tests and by Mr. von Hanstein as his personal car. In a test in Sports Car International, it was a "normal" Carrera Speedster and later in Top Gear 1958 it appeared as a GT. In the spring of 1958 it was purchased by the Swedish Porsche importer Scania-bilar. The first Swedish driver was called Mr. Olof Persson. He competed in The Rally to the Midnight sun in 1958 and in ice races in 1958 and 1959. When it was sold in 1960, it had a normal 1600N-engine. It had a four cam-engine two years later when it reappeared on the track but later in received the pushrod engine again. Christer Nyberg from Sweden owned this car from 1978 to 1983. Here is the information he provided; "I owned the car from 28/8 1978 to 4/12 1983. When I bought the car, nothing was "Carrera" except brakes and instruments and the gearbox and 80 liter tank. But I managed to find Autopulse gaspumps, oilfilter, gaspressure regulator, steering wheel, seats, steel/alurims, and an engine that had been a spare engine to a Swedish Abarth Carrera which C-G Hammarlund used to race in the 1600cc class." The car is now owned by Mr. Johnsson since 1984 and is still in Sweden

I have gathered a lot of info of different 911 SWB racecars, and especially the wonderful

1968 911R

What a masterpiece this is...800kg...2,0 flat 6 with 3x46 IDA Webers pumping out 210 BHP/8100RPM.

4 prototypes buildt on 67S chassinumbers and 20 "series" cars on the 68 chassinumbers

(11899001-20)

As i have investigated every chassinumbers life, i have found many interesting things during my search over the last 10 years that i have been working on this

An example is 911R #001....11899001

This is the record car from Monza

Porsche was to set the 2000ccm class record with the 906 but the cruel surface of the Monza was so tough that they opted for the new special 911...the 911R.

So 911 R#001 was prepared and was driven to Monza akong with 911R #002.

#002 was brought as a spare car.

To make a long story short...19 records were made...90 tires were used!

One of the records was a 96 hour run with a average of 209 kmh.

And this car was restored in the 1990's in the US, and the pics from Monza was all black and white photos.

And they all claimed that the car was white with green stripes as the main sponsor was BP.

So it was made with green stripes

I also thought this was right, all untill i got the photos from Herr Lars Weber.

He was a mechanic for Porsche during the Monza run and had taken his own pictures.

His own...colour pisc!

And now we see that the car was white...but with ORANGE stripes!

So time to make the 11899001R right again!

Regrettable sale of my 1965 911.
All original matching numbers car. Never restored.
Have original bill of sale, and all original bills and receipts of services in USA.
Incredible collection of original papers, handbook...etc.
This car was used extensively in Johnson´s 911 Authenticity book
Everything is original, including paint, interior, headliner...the lot.
Also retains its headrests, radio, original rubber floormats and gasoline heater(not connected).
The car is also fitted with optional(from´67) chrome decos below the doors.
When imported to Norway, the milage showed 42.500 miles, which can be documented by the receipts.
While in Norway the milage has reached another 7000 accurate miles.
Has new Nadella axles, changed by Stoddard in ´88, as according to receipts.
Imported from America in ´91.
Originally sold in Delaware, and has had 5 owners from new, including myself.
All named owners.
Polored with black leather interior.
All accessories still with the car.
49.550 miles from new.
Left front fender was dented and repared sometime in the 70s.
Paint has cracked several places.
I have chosen not to do anything about this, as I am a firm believer of
originality. Also, the engine lid has been repainted, unsure of reason.
Just completed 5000km troublefree drive this summer, to Belgium, France and Le Mans.
Engine has been overhauled due to long term storage.
This was done by previous owner, but would probably need another, as I suspect the work was not all that professional.
This was carried out in Norway. Also it has stainless steel heaterboxes.
All original hoses and pipes are still on the engine.
Car located in Norway. Can deliver in Europe.
We take pried in selling honest cars with known history.
Also, as we are firm believers of selling cars from enthusiasts to enthusiast, we will often be below markedprice.
Don´t wait too long though, as original unmolested cars are on the rise.
I have put my house up for sale as well...so don´t wait too long about making your mind up...I might change my mind and deside to keep it.
This car is not to be confused with others on the market. Welcome to any inspection.
